We – The Barn at Ambro Mill and The Loft at Ambro Mill – take your privacy very seriously in relation to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

WHO ARE WE?

In terms of this privacy policy, ‘we’ are The Barn at Ambro Mill and The Loft at Ambro Mill.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU?

We collect the personal data that you input by booking one of our holiday lets. This includes:

  •  Your name

  • Postal address

  • Email address

  • Telephone numbers

  • Guest names (and ages if under 21)

We do not keep any financial details because payments from guests are made via bank transfer by the guest and we do not accept payment by cheque or credit card.

Please note that your information may be passed to us by third parties, for example, when you book one of our properties through Booking.com or Airbnb. You should check the privacy policy of these external organisations.

HOW DO WE USE THIS INFORMATION?

Data will be used for the following purposes:

  • To manage our contractual obligations to you when you book to stay with us. This is the primary lawful basis upon which we hold personal information for the purposes of the GDPR.

  • To send your booking confirmation and check-in / arrival information, as well as communicating with you (if required) during your stay.

The GDPR requires us to indicate for how long we will retain data. Where you have booked to stay with us we will retain your data for a period of seven years for legal purposes. This will ensure we are able to assist you should you have any questions, feedback or issues in connection with a stay you have purchased from us or if any other legal issues arise.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?

We ensure that the appropriate technical safeguards are in place to protect your personal data. This includes using a secure network.

We will never pass or sell your information onto third parties for their marketing efforts. It is solely used by us to manage your booking.

DATA REMOVAL REQUEST

Under GDPR you have the right to request that we remove your personal information from our system. We need to retain it until your booking has been completed and we no longer need to contact you. At any point you can remove yourself from our list.

The only reasons we store personal details are:

  • You booked a holiday rental property with us.

  • You filled in a form on this website.

  • You communicated with us via email.

If you are not satisfied with the way your request relating to personal information has been handled by us, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

If you follow a link to any external website from our website, please note that they have their own privacy policies. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for them. Please check those policies before you submit any personal data to those websites.

UPDATING THIS POLICY

This privacy policy was published on 14 March 2023. It will be updated from time to time, so please check it periodically.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to ask us at any time:

  • To confirm whether we hold any of your personal data.

  • To send you a copy of any personal data that we hold about you.

  • To correct any inaccuracies in your personal data and to add relevant details where the personal data we hold is incomplete.

  • To delete (to the extent possible) any of your personal data, where we are required to do so by law.

  • To stop processing your personal data, where we are required to do so by law.

  • To let you have a portable copy of the personal data we hold about you, where we are required to do so by law.

  • To stop processing any of your personal data that we process on the basis of our legitimate interests.

Where we have reached a decision that affects you by processing your personal data automatically then you have the right to speak to someone to discuss that decision.
